Admiral Sir John Jeremy Black, (17 November 1932 – 25 November 2015), known as Jeremy Black or J. J. Black, was a senior Royal Navy officer. He commanded the aircraft carrier during the Falklands War, and later served as Commander-in-Chief Naval Home Command from 1989 until his retirement in 1991. Apollo Sunshine was an alternative rock band from Boston, Massachusetts. History Founding Sam Cohen, Jesse Gallagher, and Jeremy Black originally met in 1997 in Boston, where the three were attending a Berklee College of Music summer performance program. Albums The band released their first album, ''Katonah'', in 2003 on SpinART records. The album was recorded in Katonah, New York in a barn which the band converted into a studio, and produced by Andy Edelstein, a professor at Berklee. The first single, " I Was on the Moon", was released in 2003. ''The New York Times'' described their sound as "bouncy 60's-style melodies crack wide open, breaking into outbursts of pummeling and feedback before jumping back into the tune. Jeremy Black (historian)
Jeremy Black (born 30 October 1955) is a British historian, writer, and former professor of history at the University of Exeter. He is a senior fellow at the Center for the Study of America and the West at the Foreign Policy Research Institute in Philadelphia, US. Black is the author of over 180 books, principally but not exclusively on 18th-century British politics and international relations, and has been described by one commentator as "the most prolific historical scholar of our age". He has published on military and political history, including ''Warfare in the Western World, 1882-1975'' (2001) and ''The World in the Twentieth Century'' (2002). Jeremy Black (Assyriologist)
Jeremy Allen Black (1 September 1951 – Oxford 28 April 2004) was a British Assyriologist and Sumerologist, founder of the online Electronic Text Corpus of Sumerian Literature. Black was born in Isleworth, Middlesex, England, and was brought up in Buckinghamshire, England. He was the only son of tea-taster Dudley A. Black and his wife Joan M. née Denton (1913-1957). At age two, he was isolated for a whole year in hospital with polio, then, at age five, he suffered the death of his mother. After his attendance at Slough Grammar School for Boys, in 1969 Black went to Worcester College, Oxford, as Exhibitioner in Classics. At Oxford, he became interested in the ancient languages and cultures of Mesopotamia, and, after qualifying, changed his studies to Sumerian and Akkadian under Professor Oliver Gurney.
